Sleepy girls

It took them a few weeks but the twins have finally figured out they can get out of bed at night. Last night I went to check on them and had a hard time opening the door. That's because they were asleep in front of it. Courtney had her pillow, which they were both laying on and Kennedy brought her blanket to cover them both up.

Daddy's helmet

Yesterday was the first gorgeous Fall weather day we've had in Houston. David took the opportunity to take the motorcycle to work. We spent the day outside enjoying ourselves. When he came home from work Janna was playing at the neighbors house while the twins played in the sand box. They saw their dad come in with his helmet and both started yelling that they wanted to wear it. David grabbed the camera first, then said yes.

cheesy Courtney

silly Kennedy - she didn't want any help. She is grown up now and has a serious case of "Idoititis"

OCD follow up

As a follow up to the story below: at nap time Courtney was sent to her room at nap time with no purse/pack. When she woke up from her nap she comes out all disheveled with a Ziploc bag in her hand. She had found it in her room and filled it with her treasures. She just couldn't be without a pack!

OCD

Courtney has always been a little OCD about her stuff. She can't sleep with one binky (pacifier), she has to have one in her hand just in case. If she finds others she will stuff them down the side of her bed so she always knows exactly where they are.

Her current obsession is purses, or packs as she calls them. She can't just have one, she has to have at least two. Both on the same arm mind you. If there is a lunch bag to be held she will add that to her load. When it gets too heavy she says, mommy I hold you? Which translates to, come pick me up and help me hold my stuff. Although heaven forbid someone try to lighten her load by taken out some of the stuffed animals, books, socks or binkies she has stuffed in her bags (all things she LOVES). Plus the purse/pack must be closed, she cries if it's unzipped. Again, trying to take things out to arrange this will bring on many tears.

Most days she must have at least one band aid on her body. Two days ago as she was putting them on she figured out a way to combine her loves - she put a band aid on her purse. I attempted to take it off but the consequences were too severe.

While comments on her packs are allowed no one is allowed to touch them unless express permission is given. In fact too much attention to the pack will result in a bout of tears. The death grip will be loosened to be put in her car seat or while her clothes are being changed but the pack must be in plain sight at all times.

It's all kind of funny but very serious to her at the same time. Whats a mother to do?

Thirsty girl

We're in the van and the music is playing. I hear Kennedy from the back seat say, "mom, can we talk?" I turned the music down and said, "sure honey, I'd love to hear what you have to say." I'm excited because she's never done this and I can only imagine what she is about to say. She replies, "mom, I need a cherry lemonade."

It was so cute, she sounded so grown up when she asked. Needless to I said yes and she got one.

Cute girls

I told the girls we were picking up their photos today and they started acting really silly telling me to take a picture.

Courtneys photos

We finally had the twins photos made. Here is our beautiful Courtney.
