Pretend

During our preschool lessons today we played a game about animals.  One of us would act out an animal as the others guessed what we were. At first we tried to do it with just movements but if it was too hard we could ask the person to make the animals noise as a clue.  I tried so hard to guess what the girls were doing but they made it really hard.  For example they weren't just a cat, they were a cheetah, or once a fast cheetah.  Kennedy's elephant was priceless!  They were dolphins, walrus and snakes.  They were monkeys, horses and every type of cat known to them.  What a fun day!!

Shrinkage

While driving home today Courtney says, "If daddy shrinks you get a new boyfriend."  I was more than a bit surprised and tried my hardest to figure out what she was talking about.  She simply kept repeating herself.  Finally I said, "but if I get a new boyfriend that means you get a new daddy."  Kennedy pipes up and adds, "Ok, it can be Tony."  I had to explain this isn't the deep South and you can't marry family!!  So Courtney adds, "it can be AH (Jason)."  I said, "ok, there is no boyfriend, no new daddy!"  Then Courtney says, "if you shrink we get a new mommy."  I asked who that might be and Kennedy responds, "I don't want a new one."  Courtney says, "maybe Tina because she gives us candy."

Little sell out!!

Equine therapy

Aunt Kristin and cousin Erin invited the twins and I to come out and have their own horse time.  Janna has been out many times and comes home full of wonderful stories of "The Barn" so her sisters were thrilled.

We got there a bit early and visited Pancake in her stall.  Kennedy was wearing her trademark kitty ear headband.  Pancake couldn't figure them out and kept nudging her and nibbling on her.  Erin showed the girls how to prepare a horse for riding, it was one of their favorite parts - grooming the horse.  When it came time to ride Courtney said Kennedy should go first, Kennedy readily agreed.  However, once she was on Pancake she was a bit nervous about being up so high.  Erin lead her around the area a few times as well as walking over a love jump then she was done.

Courtney was thrilled to be up next.  She acted scared at first, but once Aunt Kristin let go she was just fine.  She sat straight and tall, at one point she let go of the saddle with one hand to show off.  In fact after a while Kristin gave her the reigns and instructed her on how to hold them and move Pancake where she wanted to go.

When it was time for us to go the girls helped brush Pancake and put her out in the pasture.  We all had an amazing time.  We hope we are invited back again soon (HINT)

Sorensen girl family birthday celebration

We had 22 people over to celebrate all the birthdays.  I made chili and three different cakes (another blog about that later).  Some family/friends couldn't make it and were missed.  Those that did come had a great time with LOTS of laughs.  Maybe it was a sugar high from all the cake?

It's our 5th birthday

The girls had a simple 5th birthday.  They had a play date with their best friend Abby.  This included dressing up and eating rainbow cupcakes.  That night they went to Taekwondo, broke their birthday board, then had pizza and more rainbow cupcakes with our little family, Jenny and grandma and grandpa.  As you look at the photos you may notice there are three outfits, that's how many times they changed that day.  Not counting the dress up time of course.

the marker incident

The girls received these really cool tent/castles that they would color all by themselves.  As a special treat they have been sleeping in them each night.  The coloring was going well until they got all done and decided to color on themselves.  They looked in the mirror so they could see themselves - that's why Courtney's C is backwards.  Somehow Kennedy managed to get her K going the right way.

yes, that is a big circle around her eye.  She has stripes since she is a tiger.

Hats off to Reading

The CISD librarians hosted a hats off to reading event.  I took the girls and we had a great time.  There was face painting, balloons, free books, games, coloring, and the Houston Symphony.  Radio Disney was on hand so my girls had fun dancing.  Janna did a few contests and won tickets for another festival by answering questions about one of her favorite shows, "Austin and Alley"

Spring Break - Courtney & Kennedy style

While Janna was out of town we still wanted Courtney and Kennedy to enjoy their Spring Break.  Little Christina was in from college so we were able to spend time with her as she stayed with her mom and Jenny.  Poor Uncle Andy missed most of it since he was out of town during that week.

One day Aunt Shana and Christina came up to our side of town.  We met them over at Kathy & Don's.  Then on Monday we all went to Moody Gardens for the day.
