There are some great parks in Austin. So we had lots of opportunities to play!! Courtney fell asleep so she missed out on going down the slide. But I did capture Janna & Kennedy sliding down together. As you can see Kennedy really wanted to play!
At another park all the girls got into the act. Courtney woke up and took a ride on the swing.
Janna took her turn on the big girl swings. She also got to ride the train around the park, play on the jungle gym and generally enjoy herself.
Kennedy took that time to kick back and relax. She didn't have a binky so she chilled with a thumb! Then it was over to Barton Springs for a dip in the water. We forgot swimsuits but that didn't deter Janna!! She wound up swimming and getting completely soaked! No one minded at all. That's what beautiful days & swimming holes are all about!!!
Courtney & Kennedy wanted to get in the water too so Aunt Shana helped them dip their toes in. It was a bit chilly for them but they did enjoy the goose that honked at us to get out of its spot!!! Once we left it got back in the water and finally stopped honking at us. What a great day. Thanks again Shana!!!

Janna's first day of Kindergarten
Courtney and Kennedy wanted to get in on the act so they woke up early. This has become part of our morning routine - cuddle time with the babies. They get up around 5:30 to eat and then she gets up around 6:15-6:30. Janna always makes time to hold them. It's also the first thing she does when she gets home from school.
Here she is walking into school. She's moving the people along. She likes to help others if they aren't moving fast enough for her.
This was taken outside her classroom. For those keen observers you may notice she is now wearing a different dress. Let's just say there was an incident during cuddle time with sisters. That's the chance you take with babies! Janna thought the gamble was worth it and she didn't complain at all.
Here we are talking to her teacher, Ms. Marroquin. Janna is pulling out the present she made for her. Since their classroom has a window, Janna painted a stained glass horse to hang there. She even wrapped it herself.
I thought I would be sad to leave Janna at school but I didn't cry at all. We were all to excited for her to feel sad. She loves school. One of her favorite parts has been riding the bus. Even on the day when she was 45 minutes late getting home. I tried to ask her to let me take her to school after that - NO WAY!!!! She has a friend she sits with (who is in second grade) and she loves the bus. She has great new friends and was even invited to a birthday party this weekend. She says her teacher is "cute and sweet." We are all adjusting well to our new schedule.

Happy Labor Day
We had a great time over the Labor Day weekend. We went to two different pool parties so Janna was in complete heaven.
While talking with my SIL Michelle I figured out the babies had never been swimming. Part of me was concerned about contamination of a public pool with such little babies. Most of me was feeling outnumbered by the sheer idea of two infants, one big girl and only one mother in the pool. Since I had help this time and we were at a friends pool I decided to give it a try. The babies loved it!!!!!! I didn’t bring swimsuits – they went in just swim diapers. So forgive the Redneck look of my children and enjoy their cute smiles & crazy hair. Here is Kennedy simply enjoying the water.
David couldn't pass up an opportunity to give Courtney a groovy hair do.
As for big sister Janna - she doesn’t like fires. So while Kristin was grilling the burgers & brauts I was surprised to see Janna even walk over there. After the other food was done Kristin decided a good cooking fire should never go to waste so she brought out the makings for S’mores. I love that part of her food supply in her home consists of the makings for S'mores!! Anyway, Janna decided to give roasting a marshmallow a try. As you can see she liked it. She was even helping Erin blow hers out when it caught fire.
