At our Taekwondo awards ceremony Kennedy wouldn’t say hi to any of the instructors.  Plus when she saw Mr. Broussard she hissed loudly at him.  I asked her afterwards, “Why didn’t you say hi to the instructors at TKD?”  Kennedy replied, “ Because daddy was there and I love him the best.  I can’t say hi to those men because daddy is the one I love the most and I want him to know it.  But it’s okay to love Miss Turcato.”

The girls had their first every Taekwondo testing.  At the start Mr. Shanafelt came in the room and reminded them to sit quietly in listening position #1 and the girls took him very seriously.  Courtney would barely smile she took it so seriously. 

We did get smiles once they were awarded their new Tiger Cub yellow stripe belts.  Their grandparents came as well as their best friend Abby.  Courtney was feeling a bit shy with everyone staring at her so she wasn't up for many photos.

Mr. Kyle Quinn is Kennedy's favorite instructor.  She simply adores him.  While she likes all the other teachers she lights up when he is there.  He is leaving for college soon so we made sure to get a picture together.  I couldn't decide which one I liked better so I added both.

Janna has reached a level 1 brown belt in Taekwondo. We have to thank our many amazing and wonderful instructors at our school - we love you guys! The time and attention you put in only serves to increase Janna's efforts.

New Belts

Janna received her new belt last night. She is now a level 2 green. The ceremony wouldn't be complete without photos with her favorite instructors. Mr. Ben Hoffman and Mr. Terry Thomas. You have no idea how much she loves these two young men.

Board breaking

During TKD class today I broke a few boards. I did it twice with a sliding side kick and twice with a palm smash. For those who have been doing this a while I'm sure that's no big deal. For me, I'm on top of the world. What a great feeling!!!!

Tiger Cub graduate

Janna has completed her Tiger Cub training and is now a part of the Junior Taekwondo classes. She gets a special white belt (which she is showing off here). We so proud of her! She was a little worried that she'd miss her teachers - imagine her surprise to find they are helpers in her new classes too.

On Monday Janna tested and received her blue belt in the Tiger Cubs program of Taekwondo. I decided to share some of the photos from that night.
